The host city: Trondheim

The ancient “Viking capital” of Norway, Trondheim, has been chosen as the host city and event center for the WOC 2010. Trondheim has through its more than 1000 years of history been a meeting place for the old and new, for the crown and the church, and for different cultures. Trondheim is the third largest city in Norway, with 160.000 inhabitants, and it is a major center in Norway for high technology research and education.

In the city of Trondheim we can offer:

  • Spectacular national monuments, such as the Nidarosdomen cathedral, the Kristiansten fort and the Archbishop’s Palace.
  • A wide variety of cultural events that can be visited outside competitions, such as theater, a number of museums, galleries, etc.
